40 Days of Prayer

“My house shall be called a house of prayer…” – Jesus in Matthew 21:13

At The Rock Church we hold the ministry and practice of prayer in high regard. We hope that you will join with us as we embark on these 40 Days of Prayer and use these prayer opportunities as an important part of your personal spiritual growth.

Throughout the whole Bible, prayer is defined as constant, personal communication with God. We do not offer our prayers so that God can find out what we need, since Jesus tells us,

“Your Father knows what you need before you ask him” (Matthew 6:8)

Instead, God wants us to pray because prayer expresses our trust in Jesus and is the means by which our trust in Him can increase. In addition, we are seeking his will, wisdom and direction for ourselves and and our church, for this New Year.
