<itunes:summary>Weekly sermon audio from The Rock Church in Squamish, BC and Lead Pastor Glenn Davies. The Rock Church in Squamish, BC is a new expression of a 2,000 year-old movement called ekklesia in the Greek world of that day, but more familiar to us today as—the church.

We are followers of the one true Jesus Christ, who love God, love our neighbours and love Squamish. We value Jesus above all, authenticity, creativity and generosity and seek to engage our culture with the amazing grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We don’t pretend to have our lives all together, but we do turn our lives over to an awesome God who does.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>In this week’s message podcast we continue our study in the book of Romans from verses 2:1-16. The Apostle Paul was eager to go to Rome to preach the Gospel to the believers there so that they will know God and His Gospel. Last week we discovered that God&#039;s Wrath is not what some people would think—an angry and vengeful God striking out at bad people who break his commandments. We saw that this is not how God truly responds to our sin and much more about his true character.

This week we talked about, &quot; How to Survive God&#039;s Judgment&quot; as we study Romans 2:1-16. Again, probably not what you might expect!</itunes:summary>

Our plan between this date and Christmas, is to work through the first 4 chapters of this incredible letter to the church in Rome which was written by the Apostle Paul sometime around 57 A.D. while he was in Corinth.</p>
<p>At Christmas we will begin a series on the Gospel of Matthew and return to the next 4 chapters of Romans after we finished Matthew.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-size: 13px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">We began by looking at the first 15 verses of chapter 1 which is one of the longer introductions to any of Paul&#8217;s letters or epistles. As an introduction to the series and the letter, we looked into Paul&#8217;s upbringing, education and dramatic conversion to faith in Jesus Christ when he, a man who was committed to murdering Christians, came face-to-face with the risen Jesus.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-size: 13px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">These first 15 verses tell us lot about his purposes for wanting to visit Rome, none of which were more poignant than the last verse when he declares, &#8220; I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.&#8221;</p>
