As we discovered last week, Daniel has had a dream and visions of the night which he describes in nightmarish terms. The chapter concludes with Daniel telling us about an angel who comes to help interpret his dream for him. What is revealed is also alarming to Daniel as it pertains to the future, a future that both terrifies Daniel and gives him hope in the sovereignty of his God.
