Upon this Rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Our Mission: Why The Rock Church Exists

Simply put our mission is to Make Jesus Known. We exist therefore to make disciples who make disciples, by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Spirit and gathering these disciples into the church, that they might worship and obey Jesus Christ now and in eternity to the glory of God the Father.

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
— John 17:3

Everything we do at The Rock Church, whether church gatherings, ministry outreach or living in community, is centered on making Jesus known. Our mission is a compass that directs all of our decisions and it simply comes down to just this—will any activity or program contribute to making Jesus known or not?

When Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples to go out and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-19), it was His intention that we would become disciple-makers, not merely convert-makers. We are called to be more than great followers. We must also be great follower-makers.

A core component then of our mission as disciple-makers of Jesus Christ, is to teach people everything that we know about Jesus and teach them how to share their faith in Him to their friends, family and community.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
— Ephesians 4:11-16
